Sakami Coffee is run by Gloria and Jarmo Gummerus in Kenya's North Rift Valley. Coming from careers in the beauty industry and engineering, they planted their first coffee trees in 2010, with the aim of building a sustainable farm and finding an independent market for their coffee.

Today, coffee grows alongside macadamia and indigenous trees, with a strong focus on biodiversity and providing employment opportunities for women in the local community.

PROCESSING

Ruby Red is a washed lot made from carefully selected, deeply ripe coffee cherries, hence its name. Following depulping, the coffee undergoes an extended fermentation before being washed and dried on raised beds.

The result is a fruit-forward Kenyan coffee with pronounced sweetness, a rounded body and a clean finish.
